Lion King is a stunning and upstanding 17.2h chestnut, 2011 Australian bred Hanoverian stallion by Lauries As (whose sire is the legendary Londonderry) and out of Remi Waltzing Matilda (by the Grand Prix dressage stallion, Walt Disney I). This gorgeous imported son of the renowned black hanoverian stallion, Lauries As, is set to be a huge asset to the New Zealand warmblood breeders. He exhibits very good conformation, superior character and a fabulous personality.

Lion King has competed very successfully in show jumping including at Grand Prix, Show  Hunter, Round the Ring, trained at advanced level dressage and recently the winner at his very first start at eventing in the Canterbury Eventing championships with Giles Gormack.​
